The YELLOW DOT PROGRAM is the first program of its kind in the state of Alabama. It is designed to assist citizens and first responders in the event of an automobile accident or other medical emergency involving the participant’s vehicle. The program can help save lives by improving communication at a time when accident victims may not be able to communicate for themselves.
Participants of the program will have their picture taken, complete a personal information form, and will be given a Yellow Dot folder and decal. The personal information form, with the photo attached, will be placed into the folder and then into the glove box of their vehicle. The Yellow Dot decal will be placed in the lower left corner of the rear window of the participant’s vehicle. The decal alerts first responders that medical information can be found in the glove compartment.
The Yellow Dot Program is a free service provided to individuals of all ages. The program is being funded by Sheriff Sam Cochran and a grant provided by the ADECA/LETS.
