Q. How can I find out if there is warrant out for me?
To determine if there is an outstanding warrant on you, you must
go to the Warrants Section Office of the Mobile County Sheriff's Office. This
office is located at 510 South Royal Street in Mobile, Alabama. It is on the
first floor of the MCSO Administration Building. Upon arrival at the Warrants
Section Office, you must present picture identification that shows your date of
birth and/or social security number. At that time, a member of the Warrants
Section will check to determine if there are outstanding warrants on you.
Q. How can I get someone evicted from my rental property?
To have someone evicted from your rental property you must go to
the District Civil Court Clerk's Office which is located in the Mobile County
Government Plaza. The personnel assigned to that office will advise you of the
proper procedure for issuance of their eviction paperwork. You may contact the
District Civil Court Clerk's Office by telephoning them at 574-8747. Once the
Mobile County Sheriff's Office receives the paperwork from the District Civil
Court Clerk's Office, it will be assigned to a Deputy Sheriff for service.
Q. Who has to have a gun permit? What is required to qualify for
a gun permit?
A person is required to have a valid pistol permit if he/she
carries a handgun outside of their business or residence, concealed on his/her
person or inside a vehicle. To qualify for a pistol permit, a person must
obtain and submit a completed application at the Pistol Permit Office of the
Mobile County Sheriff's Office. This office is located on the first floor of
the Sheriff's Office Administration Building which is located at 510 South
Royal Street, Mobile, Alabama. The applicant must be a legal citizen of the
State of Alabama. They must have attained the minimum age of 21 years. The
applicant must be a responsible individual of good character, who routinely
exercises good judgment. He/she must never have been convicted of a criminal
felony or meet any of the following criteria:
a) convicted of or attempting to commit a crime of violence
b) convicted of a domestic violence or assault against a spouse/family member
c) convicted of a felony
d) convicted of any theft
e) is currently a drug addict or a habitual drunkard.
